American Girl Doll Clothing Solution

My nearly-8-year-old daughter just loves American Girl Dolls.  And so do I! They are wholesome and even have accompanying history lessons.  They are the anti-BRATZ

Like most collections, it is  challenging to manage all the shoes, outfits and accessories that accompany the doll. We tried using a stand up wardrobe, but every time we opened it up the clothes had all fallen off the hangers. Frustrating!
Check out this simple solution - simply cut a 1/4 inch dowel to the length of the width of the shelf. (pictured is the bottom level of a simple white bookcase).  Select a height that is about one inch longer than the longest item you plan to hang.  Drill a hole on each side of the bookcase that is one size larger than the dowel.  Thread the dowel through both holes, and all a dab of hot glue at each end.  Takes about 10 minutes and your daughter will love it!

For the price of a wooden dowel, your child can have a miniature doll closet!
