What do I love about painting a room? Selecting a color, setting a theme, adding a little zing to the space. What do I dread? Taping off the ceiling! The line never comes out sharp and it looks amateur.
I avoided this pitfall by keeping the existing paint color that intersects the ceiling (yellow, pictured) and adding two accent colors (orange and turquoise). By using two parallel stripes of painters tape, you can create a visually interesting paint scheme.
Tip: Run a credit card over the blue painter's tape before painting to create a really sharp line.
