Recycled Dinner Table Place Cards

When we have dinner in our dining room, my kids are responsible for setting the table.  

Mostly.

When we have company, they love determining the seating arrangement using these recycled wooden blocks.  Our family is identified by our first name, and guests are identified in a variety of random names such as:

Man / Woman / Kid / Guest

Minivan Driver / Bridge Player / Pirate

Fifty & Fabulous / Old Dude / Aunt, etc

Guests get a kick out of the title they are given, and I can always blame strange choices on my 5yr old son.

I let Julia decorate her own with Sharpies and Highlighters.  When she is trolling for a project, we will probably upgrade to paint and/or stenciling.

Just one more way to make household chores a little more fun!
